The rough and tumble schoolyard is a safe place when compared
to the rice swamps and jungle farms of Sierra Leone, however

Agriculture in rural Sierra Leone is fundamental in providing
families with food as well as cash incomes. CAUSE Kids is working
with three primary schools in the Province of Koinadugu to build
one-acre gardens where the students and faculty can learn cutting-edge
farming skills.

Oxen for Agriculture

Increasing African food production is a key component for
both political stability and poverty reduction. Putting more
land into production for local food consumption is crucial.
Revitalizing Sierra Leone's pre-war use of oxen will go a long

hands of rural farmers working in partnership with CAUSE Kids.

Planting for the
Future - A Green Gift of Trees! $50
In the Todos Santos region of Guatemala CAUSE Canada distributes
approximately 100,000 spruce, pine and eucalypts seedlings every
year. Trees provide fuel for wood efficient stoves, construction
and soil conservation programs. They can also contribute to
bringing rain to otherwise arid regions.
For $50 - 100 seedlings
will be distributed to a primary school for a planting by children
and their teachers during their "Plant a Tree Week".

combined with water education activities reduces both infectious

Graduates of CAUSE Canada's empowerment Program for Women
will have their savings matched up to $100. At the end of this
six month coures in small business management, participants
will graduate with a savings account of $200.

trained business woman from the developing world will have her
first $100 matched by CAUSE Canada.

Four women will benefit from 4 months of Small Business
Management training. They will learn bookkeeping, marketing,
and other required skills to enhance their entrepreneurial abilities.
For $128 - 4 businesswomen
will be trained to succeed in their local markets.

- The Gift of Sustainability! $2000
Freedom from sewage and a safe dependable source of fertilizer
can be guranteed with modern composting toilet technologies.
For $2000 - a multiple
user composting toilet can be built at one of CAUSE Kids primary
schools that will be safely managed by the local staff and provide
pathogen free fertilizer for the school's gardens.
